Deborah J. Grenn, Ph.D., founding kohenet/priestess of Mishkan
Shekhinah, is Founder & Director of The Lilith Institute, and
Co-Director & Core Faculty at the Institute of Transpersonal
Psychology's Women’s Spirituality MA Program. She
co-produced the annual Women’s Rites of Spring Festival in Napa
with Leilani Birely since its inception in 2004, through 2007,
and co-sponsored the Voice of the Spirit lecture series in Napa
with Women's Heritage Project prior to that.
Dr. Grenn’s dissertation was
an inquiry into South African Lemba and United States Jewish
women’s religious/cultural identities, beliefs and ritual practices.
Her other writings include Lilith’s Fire (Universal Publishers,
2000); “How Women Construct And Are Formed By Spirit: She Who Is
Everywhere In Women’s Voices” (She Is Everywhere, Volume I,
Lucia Birnbaum, ed. 2005) and “Connecting with Deity through a
Feminist Metaformic Theology” (Metaformia, 2005). Her article
“Lilith’s Fire: Re-reading Sacred Texts” appeared in the
Feminist Theology journal in September 2007. She is currently
working on a book with Luisah Teish and Leilani Birely entitled
The Mirror in the Water, and recently edited an anthology,
Talking To Goddess, a collection
of blessings, meditations and invocations. |
